I would like to invite you and your academy to the third Louisiana State Championship Competition on Saturday, 05/01/2010 at Ponchatoula High School, This will be High level competition under the New Louisiana Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation. This will be a great opportunity for all the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students and instructors, grapplers, and fighters to get together, compete and consolidate synergies among the Schools.

Our event will feature:

• The athlete has to have the 2010 Louisiana Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation id to be eligible to receive the prizes (shorts and gi's).

• MMA Shorts for the open class champions of the NO GI adult Beg /int /ADV, Women and Master division.

• Gi's for the open class champions - White to Black Belts 

• 1^st, 2^nd and two 3^rd Place Medals.

• Six Mats.

• All competitors will receive a T-shirt, if pre register or LBJJF members

• Participation Medals for kids.

• Professional referees.

• BJJ and No Gi.

• No Gi Beginner , No Gi Intermediate and No Gi Advance

• 4 divisions for adults.

• 2 divisions for Kids (No Open Class for kids).

• CBJJ rules for Gi and No Gi (http://www.ibjjf.org/rules.htm ).

• All Competitors will weigh-in.

• Picture ID required.

• GI color – White, Black or Blue. No other color or combination like white top and blue pants.

• Girls GI and No GI.

• Drinks and Food will be sold at the venue.

Appropriate Etiquette:

• Fingernails and toenails must be clipped.

• No headgear or wrestling shoes allowed.

• Any kind of diseases like Staph infections, ringworm or etc, will result in disqualification.

• No T-shirts or rash guard allowed under the GI.

• No Gi – Must use a rash guard (recommended) or T-shirt.

• The Gi and No Gi uniform must be clean.

Illegal Techniques:

• No Slamming

• No Neck Cranks or Cervical Locks.

• Foot locks: Straight Achilles locks for all belts, Knee Bars and Toe Holds for Brown and Black Belt. No Heel Hooks.

• No striking, Biting, Putting fingers into the Eye or Nose of the opponent, small joint manipulations, head butting, hair pulling, chin to eye or groin shots.

• The use of foul language or other immoral acts of disrespect towards the referee or any of the assisting public.

• Run out the ring with a submission locked to avoid tapping out.

Points System:

Besides the Take Down, all positions must be established for 3 Seconds.

After the time is over, the Referee will decide the winner in case of same score for both fighters.

4 points – mount, back mount, back (two hooks must be inside)

3 points – passing the guard

2 points – take downs, sweeps and knee on the belly

Fight Time:

Kids 4-6 years old – 2 min

Kids 7-9 years old – 3 min

Kids 10-15 years old – 4 min

Juvenile 15-16 years old – 5 min

Adult - White belts – 5 min– Blue belts 6 min – Purple belts 7 min – Brown belts 8 min- Black belts 10 min.

Master - All belts 5 min

Senior - All belts 5 min

No GI Beginner – 5 min

No GI Intermediate = 6 min

No GI Advanced – 7 min

No GI Divisions

You can always compete in a harder division,

for example, being a blue belt fighting advance,

however you have to respect the minimum requirement,

if you are blue belt you can not fight beginners

  Beginners division less than 18 month of training

(recommend for White Belts only, blue and up is not allowed)

Straight foot locks only

  Intermediate division 18 to 36 months of training

  (recommend for Blue Belts Only, Purple and up is not allowed)

    Straight foot locks and Knee Bars only

  Advance division more the 36 months of training

(Purple, Brown and Black Belts)

Straight foot locks, Knee Bars, toe hold and biceps lock

NO HEEL HOOKS 

No Cervical Locks
